On April 6, 7, and 8, the AC2 Leadership Team met for the first time at Austin Community College for our inaugural meeting of the National Visiting Committee (NVC). According to NVC members, it went well. They commended the Leadership team on their accomplishments given the short 3-month time frame since implementation. Kudos to us!
Based on NVC feedback, we are tasked with rebranding our contract service organization (CSO). They think industry already has a preconceived idea of the typical CSO - that is, a for-profit organization that steps in to the development process and provides high-level, high-security services to companies to help shorten the time to bring products to market - therefore we need to find a new name for our services.
So, I am sitting here going over some suggestions from my esteemed colleagues of various acronyms and names to brand our community college student service organization. One suggestion is Quality Academic Service Organization (QASO) pronounced K-SO, which Jennifer thinks sounds "cheesy". I admit, it does sound cheesy. Someone else suggested just Academic Service Organization (ASO), but the pronunciation is, well, not professional sounding? Another suggestion is Student Lead Organization (SLO), um...slow...no!!
If you have a suggestion you would like for us to consider to rebrand our contract service organization, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
